A growing business in financial services
The financial services industry continues to face unprecedented economic and operational challenges. The pressure to cut costs and improve agility in order to remain competitive amid fierce global competition, continuous regulatory change and narrowing margins is driving many organisations to re-focus and realign their business models to realise increased efficiencies and cost savings. For DAV this has created a number of opportunities to work with key financial institutions to help them through significant IT and business change programmes.
Over the past few years, DAV has been steadily building its financial services capability, helping clients to successfully deliver benefits from major technology enabled business change programmes, such as the implementation of low latency data networks and harnessing Cloud technology. To help build on these foundations, it has recently appointed Paul Sherrington as Strategic Business Development Executive for the financial services market, taking on responsibility for the development of DAV's business in this sector. Paul will assume responsibility for revenue generation, sales strategies, execution and management as he builds a sustainable pipeline of new business.
Commenting on Paul's appointment, DAV's Managing Director, Charlie Mayes, said: 'Paul's knowledge and experience of the financial services marketplace will be invaluable as we look to grow our business in this key sector; plus his extensive network of senior level contacts will ensure that we are able to reach the right people.'
Paul has worked in the IT industry for 30 years holding senior executive and director positions for organisations such as Data Sciences and IBM. Paul is highly experienced in selling complex business-to-business solutions and services to the financial services sector. In particular he has had responsibility for acquiring large blue chip customers in the UK such as JP Morgan, Halifax, Co-operative Bank, Schroder Unit Trust, Global Asset Management and Lloyds of London. Paul has also successfully acquired new business in continental Europe, including Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg and Poland.
Outside of work Paul has a passion for classic car motoring, motor racing, rugby, cinema, theatre and the arts.
